This calculator changes one duration expressed in minutes into several commonly used time units. It reports seconds, decimal hours, days, weeks, average months, average years, and a clock-style hours – minutes – seconds breakdown. The conversion is an exact identity for seconds, hours, days, and weeks under the stated unit definitions. Month and year values are averages, so they should not be used to predict a calendar date or the exact number of minutes between two dates.
When to use it
Use it to translate a meeting length into decimal hours for a timesheet, convert exercise or machine runtime into seconds, compare a long duration with days or weeks, or prepare consistent time-unit values for a report or spreadsheet. For scientific and technical work, remember that the NIST explanation of the SI unit of time identifies the second as the base SI unit.

- Replace the value in Time in minutes with any non-negative finite number. Use a period for decimals, such as 90.5; grouped numbers and scientific notation are intentionally rejected to avoid ambiguous input.

Input guide
Time in minutes is the only required input. Enter a plain non-negative decimal number in minutes, from 0 up to a finite value that still produces finite conversions. A realistic example is 135. Raising the value increases every converted duration proportionally; halving it halves every result. Do not type unit text, commas, a decimal comma, a percent sign, or scientific notation. Negative durations are rejected because this tool represents elapsed duration rather than a signed time offset.
Output guide
Hours / minutes / seconds decomposes the duration into whole hours, remaining whole minutes, and remaining seconds. Seconds is minutes multiplied by 60. Hours is minutes divided by 60. Days uses 1,440 minutes per day; Weeks uses 10,080 minutes per seven-day week. Average months and Average years use 365.25 days per average year and 12 equal average months. A zero input correctly produces zeros throughout. These are conversions, not recommendations or forecasts. The summary pills repeat the most practical outputs, while the table shows the relationship used for each value.
Worked example
With the startup value of 135 minutes, seconds are 135 × 60 = 8,100. Decimal hours are 135 ÷ 60 = 2.25. The clock-style breakdown takes two whole hours, leaving 15 minutes, so the primary result is 2 h 15 min 0 s. Days are 135 ÷ 1,440 = 0.09375. These same canonical values appear in the first rendered results and in the startup Excel workbook.

The converter keeps full numeric precision in its model and workbook, then rounds only the displayed text. For calendar planning, use actual dates and a calendar-aware method because civil months vary from 28 to 31 days and leap years alter the length of a calendar year.
