Increasing this value increases all multiplicative conversions proportionally, while temperature conversion also includes an offset.
From unit is required and identifies the imperial or US customary source unit. Examples include feet, pounds, US gallons, square feet, and degrees Fahrenheit. To unit is required and selects the metric destination, such as meters, kilograms, liters, square meters, or degrees Celsius. Do not treat US and UK liquid units as interchangeable; this calculator explicitly uses US liquid measures.

The startup example uses 12 feet. The exact definition is 1 foot = 0.3048 meter, so the calculation is 12 × 0.3048 = 3.6576 meters. How the conversion model works
