Enter a period for decimals; comma-decimal text such as 1,5 is rejected rather than silently changed. Scientific notation, unit words, negative values, and non-finite values are also rejected. Time in weeks is the reverse-entry field and follows the same format and range rules. A realistic example is 0.714285714286. Editing either field makes that field the active source and recalculates the other, so do not expect both fields to remain independently editable assumptions.

Output guide

Time in weeks is the exact hour value divided by 168 and is the primary conversion result. Time in days, Time in minutes, and Time in seconds are exact unit identities. Week percentage shows the duration as a percentage of one seven-day week; 100% equals exactly 168 hours, while values above 100% represent more than one week. Worked example

Multiplying by 60 gives 7,200 minutes, and multiplying by 3,600 gives 432,000 seconds. The week percentage is 120 ÷ 168 × 100 = 71.43%. Formula and interpretation

The factor 168 comes from 7 days per week multiplied by 24 hours per day. Because both factors are exact for ordinary unit conversion, no calendar assumption is needed for the hours-to-weeks result. Fractions are valid: 84 hours equals 0.5 week, 40 hours equals about 0.238095 week, and 336 hours equals exactly 2 weeks.

Calendar approximations and common mistakes

A week is a fixed seven-day unit, but a calendar month can contain 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. This calculator uses 365.2425 days per average Gregorian year and one-twelfth of that year for an average month. Common errors include dividing by seven instead of 168, treating a five-day workweek as a calendar week, typing a comma as a decimal separator, or assuming the month estimate maps to a specific date. Keep the units visible during manual work: hours divided by hours per week leaves weeks.
