Length in feet accepts a required non-negative decimal measured in feet, using an en-US period as the decimal separator. Values such as 24, 6.5, and 0 are valid. Commas, scientific notation, unit letters, negative values, and nonnumeric text are rejected rather than silently changed. Increasing this field increases every output proportionally. A common mistake is to multiply by three when converting feet to yards; feet must be divided by three.
Length in yards follows the same accepted format and range, but it is measured in yards. A realistic value is 8. Editing it switches the calculation direction, and the corresponding feet value becomes three times the yards value. Accuracy, rounding, and common mistakes
The calculator keeps full JavaScript numeric precision in its model and rounds only the displayed text. For ordinary lengths, this is substantially more precise than typical tape-measure readings. Enter only the number, not “ft” or “yd,” because the unit is already attached to the field. Use a period for decimals, such as 6.5; an entry such as 6,5 is intentionally rejected to avoid interpreting an ambiguous locale format incorrectly.
